MEDAN - Police arrested Zul Aldrin Siregar (52) for shooting his own friend using an airsoft gun in Medan City.

The Head of the East Medan Police, Kompol M Arifin, said that initially the victim, Ahmad Tarmizi (35) came to the perpetrator on Jalan Quarantine, East Medan District.

"The victim came to ask for his motorbike which had been pawned by the perpetrators," said Police Commissioner Arifin, Wednesday, September 22.

However, when the victim asked for the motorbike to be returned, the perpetrator shot both of the victim's thighs with the airsoft gun he was holding.

"Once towards the top and twice towards the thigh of the right leg and the thigh of the left leg which resulted in abrasions," he said.

After shooting the victim, Zul Aldrin immediately fled towards the rail on Jalan Gaharu, Medan. Meanwhile, the victim made a complaint to the Medan Timur Police.

"After we get the report, we immediately go after the culprit. Then we get information that the perpetrator is hiding in the area on the outskirts of the tracks. We immediately chased him and managed to catch him," he explained.

During the arrest, said Arifin, his party found evidence of one airsoft gun and two bullets.

"We are still developing it," he explained.

Meanwhile, the suspect himself admitted that he was desperate to shoot the victim because of stress due to being in debt. The perpetrator bought an airsoft gun from a fisherman in Belawan.

"It's been a long time since I bought it from fishermen for Rp. 600 thousand without using a letter," said the suspect.
