SEMARANG - The Semarang City Health Office in Central Java Province noted that seven teachers and students were confirmed to have been exposed to COVID-19 during face-to-face learning (PTM).
"The case findings are spread across four elementary schools," said Head of the Semarang City Health Office, Abdul Hakam, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 21.
Abdul said people who had close contact with teachers and students who had COVID-19 had been tracked and checked.
According to him, the results of the examination showed that none of the people who interacted closely with teachers and students who were infected with the corona virus had contracted COVID-19.
"From each school, only one or two were confirmed positive. From close contact tracing, all were negative," continued Abdul.
Seven teachers and students who contracted COVID-19 but did not experience symptoms of the illness were suspected of contracting the virus while outside the school environment.
Therefore, the Health Office emphasized that there were no clusters of COVID-19 transmission in schools during the implementation of PTM.
Abdul asked teachers and students to be disciplined in carrying out health protocols during face-to-face learning. Teachers or students who are not feeling well are asked not to come to school until their condition has recovered.
"The honesty of teachers and students is important to minimize the occurrence of transmission," he said.
