DENPASAR - A thief named Aloisius Gonzaga Tasi (39) was arrested by the South Denpasar Police, Bali. The perpetrators who came from West Manggarai, NTT, have repeatedly committed criminal acts in Denpasar.

"He is a recidivist and only came out last July 2021 (with the same case)," said South Denpasar Police Chief AKP I Gede Sudyatmaja at the South Denpasar Police Headquarters, Tuesday, September 21.

The perpetrator was arrested after two robberies. The first was on Wednesday, September 15, when I robbed a resident who was riding a motorcycle in South Denpasar.

The perpetrator stopped the victim and pretended to ask for the address of Jalan Bangau. After that, the perpetrator was riding a motorbike but suddenly turned around. The perpetrator pulled the victim's necklace and fled to Jalan Utama Pendidikan, Denpasar.

The act of beegal was also carried out by the perpetrators on Sunday, September 5. He asked for money by issuing a knife to a woman on Jalan Pulau Moyo, Denpasar.

The frightened victim gave Rp. 30 thousand. However, the perpetrator asked for additional money so the victim gave another Rp. 50 thousand

"The modus operandi of the perpetrators pretended to ask the address. When the victim was off guard, he forcibly pulled the victim's belongings and threatened with a knife to ask the victim for money," said Sudyatmaja.

From these two incidents, the police conducted an investigation and arrested the perpetrators in Denpasar on Saturday, September 18.

In the initial examination, the perpetrator admitted that he had acted 6 times. The targets of the crime are motorcyclists.

"The motorcyclist who was targeted did not see (the victim). It was a girl or a boy. What is clear is that the perpetrator took an opportunity and did it immediately. Not only at night, during the day as well," said Sudyatmaja.

The police confiscated the perpetrator's motorbike and a kitchen knife in the handling of this robbery case in Denpasar. The robbers were charged with Article 368 of the Criminal Code and Article 362 of the Criminal Code.
