JAKARTA - A witness named Agus Susanto explained that the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Azis Syamsuddin, was the foster father of former KPK investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju.

"I once took Mr. Stepanus Robin to his foster father's residence, to Tangerang prison and Sukamiskin prison. His foster father was Mr. Azis Syamsuddin," Agus Susanto said at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor), as reported by Antara, Monday, September 20.

Agus, who was a member of the Indonesian National Police in 2002-2011, admitted that he had known Robin since 2018. However, communication did not continue. Agus just got back in touch with Robin in August 2020 and was made a driver by Robin.

"When I went to Sukamiskin Prison about three times, I met Mr. Radian Ashar, I had business matters and then I went to the Tangerang Women's Prison more than three times to meet Mrs. Rita Widyasari," said Agus.

In addition, Agus also took Robin to meet with Ajay Muhammad Priatna at the Tree House Hotel and met with Usman Effendi at one of the restaurants at the peak.

In addition to taking Robin to various places, Agus also lent his ID card to Robin when exchanging foreign currency to a money changer.

The redemptions are on August 5, 2020, August 12, 2020, August 26, 2020, January 8, 2021, and February 9, 2021.

"Using my ID card but forgot the details of the money," said Agus.

After the money was exchanged, Agus revealed that he and Robin then delivered the money to Maskur Husain.

"I always deliver money with Mr. Robin, I go to this court in the basement then at the Borero restaurant, in the mall parking lot but I don't know the mall in Jakarta very well, at the workshop in Kemayoran and then at the Sudirman Park apartment," said Agus. in detail what cases are handled by Robin at the KPK, but he is sure that Robin takes care of several cases.

"I don't know the details. However, what I heard was that he handled cases at the KPK, I heard from Mr. Robin and Maskur's conversation," said Agus.

In this case, Robin and Maskur were accused of receiving from M. Syahrial an amount of Rp. 1,695 billion, Azis Syamsudin and Aliza Gunado of Rp. 3,099,887,000.00 and US$ 36,000, Ajay Muhammad Priatna of Rp. 507.39 million, Usman Effendi of Rp. 525. million, and Rita Widyasari amounting to Rp5,197,800,000.00 so that the total bribes reached Rp11.5 billion.

Syahrial is an inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor; Azis Syamsudin is the Deputy Speaker of the DPR from the Golkar Party faction, Aliza Gunado is a Golkar cadre who has served as the former Deputy Chairperson of the PP Youth Forces of the Golkar Party (AMPG), Ajay Muhammad Priatna is the inactive Mayor of Cimahi, Usman Effendi is the Director of PT Tenjo Jaya who also a prisoner in a corruption case of land use rights in Tenjojaya sub-district, Sukabumi, West Java, and Rita Wisyasari is a former regent of Kutai Kartanegara.
