ACEH - A total of 22 people were detained by the Lhokseumawe Police, Aceh. They were arrested for being caught playing the higgs domino game online at several points in this city. Their actions have disturbed the community.

Lhokseumawe Police Chief AKBP Eko Hartanto said the 22 people were arrested in an online gambling eradication operation that has been carried out since the last two days.

"The perpetrators were arrested while playing the higgs domino online gambling game in several coffee shops. The arrests were based on public information," said AKBP Eko in Lhokseumawe, as reported by Antara, Monday, September 20.

He said there had been a lot of public information related to the rise of domino chip online gambling games. Based on this information, the police formed an eradication team.

Accompanied by Dandim 0103/North Aceh Lieutenant Colonel Arm Oke Kistyanto, he said the police immediately dispatched a team to several locations within the jurisdiction of the Lhokseumawe Police, including Lhokseumawe City and North Aceh Regency. Evidence in the form of 22 mobile phones and IDR 570 thousand in cash, he said.

"The alleged gamblers face a maximum of 45 lashes or a maximum fine of 450 grams of pure gold or a maximum prison sentence of 45 months," he said.

He appealed to all stakeholders to socialize and educate the public not to gamble with the higgs domino game application.

"The Aceh Ulemas Consultative Assembly has issued a fatwa that games in the higgs domino chip application are haram. Likewise, gambling in other forms is forbidden," he said.
