PADANG - The West Sumatra DPRD will soon schedule a plenary session related to the proposal for the right of inquiry to a letter requesting donations to a third party signed by the Governor of West Sumatra Mahyeldi Ansharullah.

West Sumatra DPRD chairman Supardi said that the proposal for submitting the right of inquiry to Governor Mahyeldi had met the requirements both formally and materially.

"We have verified the completeness of all the requirements set out in the regulations and have met the requirements," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, September 20.

According to Supardi, according to the rules for using the right of inquiry in the West Sumatra DPRD Procedures, 10 members of the West Sumatra DPRD and a minimum of two factions must be proposed.

In the proposal document there are 17 members of the council who gave their signatures and three factions, namely the Gerindra faction, the PDIP-PKB faction, the Democrat faction, and the Nasdem Party.

"So it has fulfilled the requirements, there are three factions and one party has been added, this has fulfilled the requirements and even exceeded what was stipulated," he continued.

The chairman of the West Sumatra DPRD said that later in the next process there must be a joint agreement through voting in a plenary meeting and if the voting is accepted, then the process will roll on because it has become the attitude of the West Sumatra DPRD as an institution.

"So far there is no pressure from the DPRD because the right to inquiry will not damage the running of the government," said Supardi.

He said a plenary meeting would soon be held after the agenda for discussing the 2021 APBD Amendments which was still in process at this time. "Trying to do it as soon as possible," he explained.

"With this right of inquiry, there is synergy between the policy and the OPD that will execute the policy, we also learn so that mistakes will no longer occur in the next period," added the chairman of the DPRD.

Previously, three factions of the West Sumatra DPRD submitted the right of inquiry to the Governor of West Sumatra, Mahyeldi Ansharullah regarding the issue of a letter requesting donations signed by the Governor to a number of parties in the area.

West Sumatra DPRD member from the Democratic Faction Nurnas said there were three factions, namely the Democrats, Gerindra and the PDI-P-PKB plus the NasDem Party.

He said the Gerindra faction consisted of 14 people, 10 Democrats, PDIP-PKB six people, and the NasDem Party three people for a total of 33 people, but only 17 people submitted proposals.

Nurnas said that although 17 DPRD members from three factions signed, they had met the requirements for the proposal.

According to him, there was one document file submitted in the proposal which contained the reasons for the submission, the legal basis, public views from social media, donation letters, and others.

Nurnas said that the right of inquiry was intended to ensure that the West Sumatra regional government is well-organized, clean, and free of KKN.

Then maintain political and moral support from people who undermine regional heads to benefit certain groups.

In addition, he said, in order to create a conducive climate and provide legal certainty for the governor's policies that are troubling and injure public confidence in local governments.
