After Being Released After Being Sentenced To 11 Years In Prison, Russian Caucasians Are Deported From Bali

DENPASAR - Immigration Denpasar deported foreign citizens (foreigners) from Russia who had previously been involved in drug trafficking.

"We have deported a Russian citizen named Sergei Chernykh who violated Article 75 Paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration in conjunction with Article 113 Paragraph (1) No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics," said Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Bali Jamaruli Manihuruk was quoted by Antara, Friday, September 17.

Sergei Chernykh is known to have entered Indonesia on April 26, 2012 and has been in the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center since July 10, 2021, before being deported.

Prior to deportation, the Russian citizen must be tested by RT-PCR and a rapid antigen test to escort officers with negative results.

"Our officers and him landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Domestic Terminal 2E at 13.05 WIB (schedule) and then took the shuttle bus to Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta International Airport," he said.

Previously, in 2012 the Denpasar District Court sentenced 11 years to a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to three months in prison. At that time, the court found Sergei Chernykh guilty of the crime of importing narcotics.
