JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio, ensured that health protocols in cinemas were running well. Previously, he had also seen firsthand simulations of implementing protocols in various other subsectors such as hotels, restaurants and tourist destinations

Wishnutama conducted a review of the readiness to apply the new normality protocol to one of the Cinema XXI bisokops, at Plaza Senayan, Jakarta, last Friday. On this occasion, the Menparekraf saw first hand the new standards that have been prepared by cinema managers. Starting from checking body temperature at the entrance, the process of queuing for tickets, purchasing food that can be done by ordering with the application, studios as the location for film exhibitions, and information boards.

All these processes have been prepared with good physical distancing implementation. Including the availability of hand sanitizers at every corner and the readiness of the staff complete with the necessary personal protective equipment. Starting from gloves, masks, and face shields.

"Today we see how health protocols in cinemas are implemented. I ensure the simulation runs well. Not only in theaters, previously we have also seen simulations of implementing protocols in various other subsectors such as hotels, restaurants and tourist destinations," he said. According to him, this simulation is important to do so that all parties, both business actors and the community, understand the procedures that must be carried out. So that when there is a decision to reopen the cinema, the activities can go well but remain safe from COVID-19.

"Do not suddenly open it but the socialization has not been carried out well. Because of whatever, the risks from COVID-19 must be avoided and I am not tired of conveying that sectors that are under tourism and the creative economy can carry out the protocol properly, correct. and full of discipline, "Wishnutama said.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government previously issued a permit for cinema managers to reopen its operations starting July 29, 2020 by implementing strict protocols. Responding to this, Wishnutama said that the decision to open a destination or creative economy sector was under the authority of the local government by paying attention to three things. Namely the status of COVID-19, regional readiness and the implementation of the health protocol itself.

"That's what we are doing right now, so whenever (the cinema) is opened we are ready. With the guidelines for health protocols, one of which is in the film sector, I hope this industry can be productive again, from its production, the cinema and various other activities, some of which are. the month stopped, "said Wishnutama.

The review conducted by the Menparekraf coincided with the launch of the Indonesia Care national campaign the day before. In the campaign, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy also released guidelines for implementing Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) for the hotel, restaurant and cinema sector.
