PKS President: Anies-Sandi Duet In The 2024 Presidential Election Is A Necessity, But Still Dynamic

MAKASSAR - Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) President Ahmad Syaikhu responded wisely to the discourse on the duet of Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

"The Anies-Sandi duet is a necessity," said PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu, in Makassar, South Sulawesi, quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 16.

He explained that his party is currently still looking for the right person to carry in the 2024 presidential election. PKS also continues to establish or build communication with a number of parties before making choices in the future.

"But I still see, it is still running dynamically. So we continue to build communication, hopefully in the future we can get it," he said.

According to Syaikhu, based on the results of the last election, it also did not appear to dominate with a total of 8.2 percent of the vote. This means that if you want to carry a presidential candidate, you need a coalition with other parties.

Even if they form a coalition with the Democrats who are fellow opposition parties, it will also not be sufficient or meet the requirements, because it does not reach 20 percent, so one more party is needed.

"The results of the last election were not very luxurious, namely 8.2 percent, they could not carry it alone, therefore there needs to be a party but it is necessary to form a coalition," said Syaikhu.
