The Evacuation Of The Bodies Of The Airplane Crew In Bilogai, Papua, Is Constrained By The Weather

JAYAPURA - Battalion Commander (Danyon) 501/BY Lt. Col. Inf. Arfa Yudha said that the evacuation of the bodies of the crew of the Rimbun Air plane that crashed on the Nabire-Sugapa flight in Papua was hampered by weather conditions.

The joint SAR team is currently on the scene. However, due to bad weather, the process of evacuating the bodies of the three victims experienced obstacles.

"At the location, rain and fog colored the evacuation process, so it is scheduled for Thursday, September 16, the morning of the body to be evacuated to Sugapa," said Danyon 501/BY Lieutenant Colonel Inf Arfa, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 15.

Danyon 501/BY, who is currently in Sugapa, the capital city of Intan Jaya Regency, stated that the joint SAR team and the community are still in a location about 5-6 km from Bilogai.

"Hopefully tomorrow the weather will be good, so that the evacuation of the bodies of the three Rimbun Air crew members can be carried out," said Inf. Lt. Col. Arfa Yudha.

The Rimbun Air plane with flight number PK-OTW, Wednesday morning, September 15, was reported to have lost contact on the Nabire-Sugapa flight. The plane was later found crashed in the mountainous area around Bilogai at an altitude of 2,400 meters.

The cargo plane carrying building materials was flown by pilot Mirza, co-pilot Fajar, and mechanic Iswahyudi.
