SUMSEL - The South Sumatra Police (Sumsel) arrested an unscrupulous teacher of one of the Islamic boarding schools (ponpes) in Ogan Ilir Regency who was suspected of committing a criminal act of pedophilia against 12 of his own students.

Director of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the South Sumatra Police Kombes Hisar Sialagan said the suspect Junaidi (22) was arrested almost without a fight by members of the IV Sub-Directorate of Women and Children Services (PPA) on Monday, September 13 at around 20.00 WIB.

"The suspect was arrested at the home of one of the victims' parents and almost without a fight," said Sialagan when the case was released at the South Sumatra Police Headquarters, Antara, Wednesday, September 15.

According to him, this pedophilia case was revealed after the PPA unit of the South Sumatra Police Ditreskrimum received a report from the victim's parents. Parents have checked their child's pubic health condition to the doctor.

After being examined, the doctor diagnosed the child as being a victim of sexual violence. One of the victims claimed to have been forced by the perpetrators to commit immoral acts at the AT Islamic boarding school.

Based on the testimony of witnesses, the victims of this depraved teacher amounted to 12 people. A total of 6 people were sodomized and six others received obscene treatment. "This case is still under investigation," he said.

The Head of the PPA Sub-Directorate of the South Sumatra Police, Kompol Masnoni added, based on the examination of the victim, the deviant behavior carried out by the suspect had been going on for about a year starting from June 2020 to August 2021.

"The 12 children were all boys, they were kissed by the perpetrator and then told to do oral sex of the suspect until he reached satisfaction," he said.
