JAKARTA - The National Police stated that the process of identifying the bodies of the victims of the Tangerang Class I prison fire had been completed. However, there are still two bodies that have not been fully identified.

"The DVI operation to identify (victims) of the Tangerang Class I prison fire has been declared over," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono to reporters, Wednesday, September 15.

Although there are still two bodies that have not been fully identified, namely Samuel Machado Nhavene and Bambang Guntara Wibisana, said Ruasdi, their identities have been known. Moreover, it is already possible to distinguish between the two through physical characteristics. However, a legal settlement is needed. Even then, it is just a matter of waiting for data from the Tangerang Class I Prison.

"Earlier, it was physically recognized, but there are several things that need to be completed by the DVI team to be able to ensure legally that what is being examined is the name in question," said Rusdi.

On the other hand, Rusdi also said that the identification process for dozens of victims took about eight days. Until finally, all the process is completed.

"The DVI team has certainly identified a total of 41 victims from the 8th to the latest on the 15th (September). For about 8 days the DVI team works 24 hours and we should be grateful that all of them can be identified," said Rusdi.
