BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil predicts the tourism sector will rise in early 2022 if communal immunity (herd immunity) is achieved.

"I predict that in early 2022 tourism will return to normal because the vaccine is targeted to be completed. Hopefully, the pandemic will continue like this so that we can really move on from pandemic to endemic, so we just have to manage," said Ridwan Kamil, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 14. .

Ridwan Kamil described that in the situation of adapting new habits to the COVID-19 endemic, there will still be restrictions on visitors at tourist destinations.

"But still we will not be 100 percent as before. We will definitely limit it to 25, 50 or 75 percent. It means that movement exists but is limited," said the man who is often called Kang Emil.

"Until when? Until the president declares independence from the invaders whose name is COVID-19. Don't know when masks can be removed. Before the day of the proclamation, let's adapt," he added.

Especially at this time, the West Java Provincial Government has begun to allow several tourist destinations to reopen.

However, the opening of tourist destinations in West Java will be adjusted to the level or level of Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in the area.

Even though it is opened, there will still be restrictions imposed on tourist attractions. So that there is no crowd that has the potential to transmit the virus.

In addition, said Ridwan Kamil, the West Java Provincial Government also uses the PeduliLindung application as a tool to enter tourist attractions and other public places.

"So the first conclusion is that tourism will be opened according to the PPKM level. Second, we use a selection fortress through the Peduli Protect application, who goes there must prove it," said Ridwan Kamil.

Moreover, the public's interest in being vaccinated is also very high. This is inseparable from the manager of public places who require a vaccine certificate to enter.

"So now the vaccine is good, people are competing because of the requirements for public activities and access to public spaces must use the Care Protect application," said Ridwan Kamil.
