Police Arrest Fugitive Thief 50 Grams Of Gold For 10 Months

JAKARTA - A fugitive for 10 months, RL alias Frog (36), the perpetrator of the theft with the motive of breaking into a house on Jalan Ternate VI, RT 04/04, Jembatan Lima, Tambora District, was finally caught by a member of the Police from the Tambora Police.

In the action, 10 months ago, the perpetrator entered the house of the victim Bambang Suriadi by breaking into the ceiling of the house and taking 50 grams of gold jewelry with a value of Rp. 50 million rupiah and a piggy bank containing money worth Rp. 900 thousand.

Tambora Police Chief Kompol Moh Faruk Rozi explained that the incident began when the victim, Bambang Suriadi, found his house in a mess with the ceiling of the house damaged and the cupboard lock broken. The victim reported the incident to the Tambora Police.

The police then conducted an investigation around the crime scene and looked for CCTV at the location. As a result, from the CCTV footage not far from the location of the victim's house, it was clear that someone suspected was the perpetrator, RL.

"From the information that the perpetrator is one of the residents who live not far from the victim's house," he said. However, the perpetrator then fled so that the police were unable to arrest him for questioning.

"The perpetrators have been fugitives for 10 months after committing the crime. In their actions, the perpetrators often change locations," said Tambora Police Chief Kompol Moh Faruk Rozi when confirmed by VOI, Saturday, September 11.

The police are continuing to investigate. However, because the perpetrators often change hiding locations, the police often have difficulty tracking them down.

After monitoring for 10 months, the police finally received information that the perpetrator was in the West Jakarta area.

"The perpetrator was on Jalan Jembatan Kambing Laksa, Jembatan Lima, Tambora, West Jakarta. When officers arrived at the location, officers found someone according to the characteristics of the perpetrator. The officers immediately arrested him," said the police chief.

The perpetrator was immediately taken to the Tambora Police for further processing. Furthermore, before the investigators, RL finally admitted his actions. "The proceeds of the crime are used by the perpetrators for their daily needs. The perpetrators are subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code," he said.
