Sukabumi Resident Convict Of Tangerang Prison Fire Victim Dies After Undergoing Treatment

SUKABUMI - A resident of Sukabumi Regency, West Java, who was a victim and suffered serious injuries in the fire tragedy of Class I Correctional Institution (Lapas) Tangerang, Banten, Adam Maulana died after undergoing treatment at the Tangerang Hospital.

Information compiled from the Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Adam Maulana, who is a prisoner of Class I Tangerang convicted of drug trafficking, was rescued from the growing fire, but suffered serious injuries all over his body and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

"We received information that Adam Maulana breathed his last on Thursday (9/9) while undergoing treatment at the Tangerang Regional Hospital," said Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Section of the Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Rika Aprianti, quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 9.

The victim, who is a resident of Cipeusing Village, Cimerang Village, Purabaya District, has been in the Tangerang prison for one year because he was involved in a drug trafficking case. At the time of the incident on Wednesday, September 8, Adam was rescued but his injuries were quite severe.

The latest information received, Adam's body is on its way to his family's house to be buried and interred. However, it is not known for certain that the victim will be buried in Sukabumi Regency, in his biological mother's hometown in Cipeusing Village or at Adam's birthplace in Cugenang, Cianjur Regency.

According to Rika, the death toll from the prison fire increased by three, one of which was confirmed to be Adam Maulana, bringing the total to 44 deaths.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Purabaya Police, AKP Tenda, has assigned his members to take the victim's mother to Cianjur. According to information, Adam's body, which was transported by ambulance, had arrived at the family's house in Sukamanah Village, Cugenang District.

Meanwhile, the house of the victim's biological mother in Cipeusing Village is currently quiet and there is no activity and the door to her house is locked, it is possible that the occupants are not in the house and it is confirmed that the victim was buried in Cianjur.
