Tangerang Prison Prisoners Have Uploaded Photos To Instagram, Menkum HAM: Cellphone Problems Later

JAKARTA - Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkum HAM) Yasonna Laoly said that he was still observing the growing issue regarding Tangerang Class I prison inmates who used cell phones. They have not taken any action in this regard.

"Later on, other problems, cellphones and other things, are currently being investigated, we'll just have to see what this issue is," Yasonna told reporters, Thursday, September 9.

For the time being, continued Yasonna, his party will concentrate first on the post-fire incident. The Ministry of Law and Human Rights is considering the placement of prisoners and victims of the incident.

"Because we are concentrating on the victims, we have to place the settlements where there are 81 people," said Yasonna.

The issue of using this cellphone began when one of the inmates named Patra Eka alias Etus who died in a deadly fire incident at the Class I prison in Tangerang, before the incident, had uploaded a photo of himself.

He uploaded the photo on his personal Instagram Story @patraeka.11 on 7 September. In fact, he also had time to upload photos of himself showing the condition of the Tangerang Class I prison.
