JAKARTA - West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ady Wibowo has named 10 suspects in the theft and one rear view mirror for a luxury car that occurred on Jalan Rawa Kepa, Tomang, West Jakarta.

Their initials were HH (17), FE (16), MR (16), IAS (21), DSKI (24), FDA (23), SG (19), DS (26), MY (37) and AF (21). ).

"One of the initials of HH is a recidivist who faced the law in 2016 in the same case. As the perpetrator of spying, at that time a minor was serving a 4-month sentence," said the police chief when confirmed by reporters, Wednesday, September 8.

The police chief said the suspects used to operate in the West Jakarta, Tangerang and Depok areas. They have been carrying out this theft for a year. While the custodian, has been in this business since three years ago.

"From the sale of one mirror, the profit reaches Rp. 75 thousand. The money from the theft is to meet their daily needs, from their ID cards, on average, they do not work," he said.

A total of 8 perpetrators of theft were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) regarding theft with a weighted penalty of imprisonment for a maximum of seven years.

Meanwhile, 2 interlocutors were charged with Article 481 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of seven years.

West Jakarta Metro Police Head of Crime, Avrilendy Akmam, said that when they carried out the theft in Tomang, only two perpetrators acted. However, after the development was carried out, it turned out that the perpetrator was part of a rearview theft conspiracy that had been operating in several different places for a long time.

"It turned out that as a result of their interrogation, they played at another crime scene in Bonjer, four of them, sometimes three of them," he said.

Avril said, the perpetrators claimed to have carried out the action up to a dozen times. They, Avril continued, sold the mirror to one of the collectors in the Taman Sari area, West Jakarta.

"Depending on the brand, if the Avanza can cost Rp. 300-400 thousand, the higher brands that are already automatic can be more expensive," he said.
