SURABAYA - Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji invites residents to participate in cleaning up the garbage piled up on Kenjeran Beach which is adjacent to Suroboyo Park in Kedung Cowek, Bulak District.

Armuji said that his party received input from residents through social media, the condition of Kenjeran Beach currently looks shabby considering the large amount of garbage piled up due to being carried away by tides and tidal waves.

"Reports from our residents are quick to respond. This is an icon of the city of Surabaya, so it must be protected together and its beauty," said Armuji, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 7.

Seeing this, Vice Mayor Armuji also ordered the Surabaya Green Open Space Cleaning Service (DKRTH) to move and act quickly to the location that became the icon of the City of Surabaya.

"When I arrived at Kenjeran Beach, dozens of DKRTH officers were already cleaning and transporting the garbage carried by the beach waves," he said.

In addition, he continued, his party hopes that local residents will also participate in maintaining cleanliness. "So don't hesitate to report it to us," said the former chairman of the Surabaya City DPRD for two terms.
