Headless And Armless Body Found In Aceh Suspected Of Sri Lankan Fisherman

ACEH BESAR - The ship and headless bodies found in the waters of Nasi Island, Pulo Aceh District, Aceh Besar District are strongly suspected of being fishermen from Sri Lanka.

"The assumption is that fishermen from Sri Lanka, what confirms it is the hull number," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Aceh Besar Police Iptu Zeska Julian Taruna Wijaya, in Aceh Besar, as reported by Antara, Monday, September 6.

Previously, a body without a head and arms was found by people stranded in the waters of Alu Reuyeung Pulo (Pulau) Nasi, Pulo Aceh District, Aceh Besar District.

The discovery of the corpse began with the presence of a 5 GT ship's bush which was found face down, after being lifted it turned out that under the ship a corpse was found without a head and arms.

Based on the observations of the Aceh Panglima Laot Institute, from its shape, the 5 GT ship found was not from Aceh or Indonesia in general, but from another country.

Iptu Zeska said, based on information received, a Sri Lankan fishing boat was hit by the waves. Then after checking there is a match on the hull number.

"It looks like their ship was hit by the waves, and from the hull number it matches the hull number that we found," he said.

Therefore, Zeska continued, his party is currently coordinating with the International Relations Division (Divhubinter) of the National Police Headquarters to get a follow-up.

In addition, Zeska also said that the post-mortem results for the fisherman's corpse had been concluded, but so far it could not be submitted because there was no official letter from the hospital.

"So far there has been a conclusion, but the official letter from the hospital (RSUZA Banda Aceh) has not yet come out," said Zeska as well.
