Police Arrest Four Teens In Depok, Bring Samurai And Chainsaws Across Public Roads

DEPOK – Four teenage boys were detained by the Jaguar Team of the Depok Metro Police for carrying sharp weapons such as samurai and saws on Jalan Gas Alam, Cimanggis, Depok, West Java. The modified weapon will be used for brawls.

Iptu Winam Agus, Head of the Depok Police Jaguar Team, said that the arrest of the four teenagers was based on reports from the public who felt restless seeing the perpetrators carrying sharp weapons on the streets.

"While passing through Jalan Gas Alam, there was a report by a group of residents that there was one motorbike riding in four and two of them were suspected of carrying sharp weapons," said Iptu Winam Agus to reporters, Monday, September 6.

Following up on the report, Iptu Winam said that his party immediately searched for the whereabouts of these four teenagers together with local residents, until they were finally found on Jalan Gas Alam.

When they were about to be arrested, two teenagers were seen throwing away the sharp weapons, then we could secure them.

"After we found it turned out to be two knives, made of saws that were cut in half, then we handed them over to the Cimanggis Metro Police," he said.

Iptu Winam added that the teenagers admitted that they carried sharp weapons to protect themselves.

"He claims to be just in case when he meets the opponent in a brawl. But it is possible that these sharp weapons are used for crime, if there is an opportunity," he said.
