JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admits that he understands the various problems that occur in higher education. He explained, there are several universities that lack lecturers so that classrooms are not suitable for teaching and learning.

"I understand that the problem of higher education is very complex. I understand, there are thousands of members of the Indonesian Chancellors Forum with varying abilities," he said, at the Inauguration of the 2020 Virtual Indonesian Chancellors Forum (FRI) Conference, Saturday, July 4.

Departing from the conditions experienced by higher education, Jokowi invited FRI members to not only be a communication forum, but also a place to share. Starting from sharing library collections, lecturers, online lectures.

"I believe FRI has a big role. I advise a number of things, help those who cannot afford it, those who have help those who don't have it, share curriculum and syllabus, share libraries, share lecturers online to move forward together. I believe this can be done by FRI," he said. .

Jokowi also invited FRI to facilitate students to study from anyone. Starting from industry players to legal practitioners. It is intended that students can catch dynamic changes.

"In the era of disruption and hyper competition like now the world is changing very rapidly, many things that have not been recorded have changed in the field. Many characters can not only be captured by reading, but through real experiences that is the importance of liberating students so that they can learn from anyone. "he said.

In addition, Jokowi invited universities to cooperate with the nearest industrial area. This is done by working together to open a faculty that is close to industry.
