DPR: Densus 88, BIN, And BNPT Must Always Suudzon With The Taliban

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I DPR RI M. Farhan considers Densus 88, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), and the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) to always apply prejudice (suudzon) to the current condition of the Taliban.

Suudzon's attitude must still be instilled in institutions related to counter-terrorism, regardless of the current attitude of the Indonesian government towards the Taliban group in Afghanistan.

"According to their duties, Densus 88, BIN, BNPT, it must always be Suudzon. We, the people of the nation and the state approve the alignment of the three institutions," said Farhan in a virtual Crosscheck discussion, Sunday, September 5.

According to Farhan, these three institutions are at the forefront of detecting and tackling the threat of radicalism in Indonesia.

Then, they are also supported by the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) and the Ministry of Communication and Information to detect radicalism through the internet and digital platforms.

"They can see this as something to be wary of. So, pretentious, please, just suudzon," said Farhan.

Farhan also responded to the views of Jusuf Kalla, Deputy Chairman of the PKS Syuro Council Hidayat Nur Wahid (HNW), to Gerindra politician Fadli Zon who views Indonesia must have a good attitude (khusnuzon) with the current Taliban rule.

They consider that the current Taliban group is more moderate and different from the ideology of the Taliban decades ago. Farhan also welcomes the appearance of this attitude.

"With the attitude of Mr. Jusuf Kalla, politicians from PKS, Mas Fadli Zon as well, for example. He said don't let this suudzonism turn into Islamophobia. We also don't want Islamophobia," he said.

However, after all, state institutions related to the notion of radicalism and terrorism cannot simply believe it. Moreover, the government is still waiting for the development of conditions to determine its attitude towards the current Taliban government.

"Together, let's look very carefully at Afghanistan, why, because of foreign policy, it affects domestic politics. It's that close," said Farhan.
