Methamphetamine Factory In Luxury Homes, Police Find Coatings To Pass X-Ray Rays

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit cooperates with the Drugs Enforcement Agency (DEA) to again dismantle the international network for the arrest of two Iranian citizens, owners of a crystal methamphetamine factory in the elite housing estate of Karawaci, Tangerang.

The police indicated that the discovery of an international drug lab in the luxury housing estate Taman Cendana Golf, Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency, Banten had an extensive network.

"We will cooperate with the DEA, because this is an international drug network," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ady Wibowo when confirmed by reporters, Saturday, September 4, afternoon.

Ady explained, from the disclosure of the methamphetamine lab, the police named a foreign citizen (WNA) from Iran as a suspect. He said the suspect obtained raw materials from abroad and processed them in Indonesia.

"So this is an international network of drug syndicates from Iran," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Drugs at the West Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Danang Setiyo, added that his party was working with the DEA or the United States federal law enforcement agency to trace the pattern of the international network system.

From the results of the crime scene (TKP) carried out by the Puslabfor Polri team, it is known that there were new findings in the form of a special material used by two Iranian citizens in making methamphetamine.

"We found materials as coatings from this basic material in a way that if they passed through the x-ray beam it could not be detected. They are also an international network, right," said Ady.

Ady then continued, his party was still investigating this case. In particular, to see if there is any involvement of Indonesians in the international methamphetamine network.

"While there is no (involvement of Indonesians), so this is still a development, when it is complete we will convey it," he explained.

Furthermore, it is known that the two Iranian citizens are capable of producing as much as 15-20 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in one month.

Until now, the Puslabfor Polri is also still continuing to develop related to the evidence found.

"This is an international network that involves several countries. They can freely bring in raw materials to Indonesia and market them," concluded Ady.
