Receives 207,000 AstraZeneca Vaccines From The Netherlands, Johnny G. Plate: Government Continues To Secure Stock Availability

JAKARTA - Indonesia has again received the arrival of the AstraZseneca vaccine. This Saturday, September 4, the country received the 49th stage of the vaccine, consisting of 207,000 doses of the vaccine as AstraZeneca from the Dutch government.

"The government has again brought in vaccines to secure the availability of COVID-19 vaccines in Indonesia," said the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, in a press release, quoted from Antara, Saturday, September 4.

This vaccine is an aid from the Dutch government in a bilateral scheme. With the arrival of the latest doses, the total vaccine entering Indonesia, both in bulk and finished vaccines, amounted to around 220.4 million doses of vaccine.

According to Johnny, sufficient vaccine stock and fast distribution are the main keys to accelerating vaccination. The government continues to strive to secure vaccine stocks, both through bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

"The availability of vaccines is the key to the speed of vaccination. Therefore, the government continues to work hard to bring in vaccines through various schemes," said Johnny.

Vaccination programs need to be accelerated and expanded to strengthen control of the coronavirus pandemic. Vaccination is also one of the efforts to coexist with COVID-19.

In addition to vaccination, the public must also be disciplined in implementing health protocols.

"Strengthening stock availability and accelerating the distribution of vaccines in an effective manner are the main keys to handling the pandemic. However, the public must always remember that to maximize this, health protocols must be strengthened, starting with wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands," said Johnny.
