Worried About Escape, 17 Suspected Bribery Of The Probolinggo Regent Forcibly Picked Up By KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) forcibly picked up 17 suspected bribers from the Probolinggo Regent Puput Tantriana Sari and took them to the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Saturday, September 4.

This pick-up was done so that they could not escape and did not eliminate evidence related to the alleged bribery of buying and selling positions in the Probolinggo Regency Government, East Java.

"The suspects were immediately picked up by KPK investigators in Probolinggo and taken to Jakarta because the KPK was worried that the suspects would run away or destroy evidence," said KPK chairman Firli Bahuri to reporters, Saturday, September 4.

Similarly, Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, stated that the dozens of suspects had been taken to the anti-corruption commission office. Furthermore, they will be examined after arriving at the KPK's Red and White Building.

"After arriving, a further examination will be carried out by KPK investigators," Ali told reporters.

"We will inform the progress," he added.

As previously reported, the KPK summoned 17 suspects for questioning at the Probolinggo Police Station on Friday, September 3.

The names of the dozens of bribers who were called were Sumanto, Ali Wafa, Mawardi, and Mashudi.

In addition, Maliha, Mohammad Bambang, Masruhen, Abdul Wafi, Kho'im, Akhmad Saifullah, Jaelani, Uhar, Nurul Hadi, Nuruh Huda, Hasan, Sahir, Sugito, and Syamsuddin. They are all state civil apparatus (ASN) in Probolinggo.

In this case, the KPK has also determined four recipients, namely the Regent of Probolinggo Puput Tantriana Sari, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem Faction who is also Puput's husband, Amin Hasanuddin, the Camat of Krejengan Doddy Kurniawan, and the Camat of Paiton Muhamad Ridwan.

Bribes were given so that they could serve as village heads in the Probolinggo Regency Government. Each person is required to pay Rp. 20 million and the village land tribute of Rp. 5 million per hectare.

Currently, only five people have been detained, namely Puput, Hasan, Doddy, Ridwan, and Sumarto. They were detained in different places.

Puput is being held at the KPK Detention Center (Rutan) at the Red and White Building branch. Hasan is being held at the KPK Rutan, Lot C1 branch.

Meanwhile, Doddy is being held at the Central Jakarta Police Rutan. Then, Ridwan was detained at the South Jakarta Police Rutan and Sugito was detained at the KPK Rutan Pomdam Guntur branch. The detention was carried out for the next 20 days starting from August 31 to September 19.
