Police Investigate The Presence Of Vaccine Certificates From Burglary PeduliLindung

JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran confirmed that he would track down and withdraw the 93 certificates that had been made by the PeduliLindungi website data breach group. Because the use of false data is a violation of the law.

"The investigation team is investigating 93 vaccine cards that can be used in the PeduliLindung application so that we can withdraw them and we can secure them," Fadil told reporters, Friday, September 3.

Inspector General Fadil also ordered members to investigate allegations of similar modus operandi in other areas. The reason is that the use of fake data can actually increase the potential for transmission of COVID-19.

"Investigators are also exploring the modus operandi of this kind of thing could happen in other places. Therefore, we will really carry out the process of sweeping and investigating so that this does not happen again," said Fadil.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya arrested two people who broke into the PeduliLindung website data to produce a vaccine certificate. Where, one of them is a village staff.

The two suspects are FH (24) a private employee who owns a Facebook account by the name of Tri Putra Heru and HH (30) as a staff of Kapuk Muara Village, North Jakarta.

For their actions, the suspects are threatened with 6 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 600 million rupiah. As referred to in Article 30 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning information and electronic transactions (ITE).

As well as being suspected of violating Law 32 Number 19 of 2016 concerning people who intentionally and without rights violate the law in any way change, add, reduce, repeat transmission, hide electronic information and or electronic documents belonging to other people or public property.
