MAGELANG - The Magelang Resort Police team, Central Java, detained a woman who was a fraudster under the guise of an online social gathering with the initials RDA (29), a resident of Kalinegoro, Mertoyudan, Magelang Regency.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Magelang Police, AKP Muhammad Alfan, said that the suspect held a social gathering, slot shift, investment, and duos under the name Arisan Menurun by Echy and then offered to other people.

"He uses identities that are allegedly fictitious as registered participants to convince and attract potential members/participants and promise fantastic profits, then use the participants' money for his own interests," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 31.

Alfan conveyed the chronology of events around December 2019 RDA began holding various social gathering models through social media, including declining social gatherings, shifting slots, investments, and duos.

He explained that the social gathering is declining, namely the gathering that if a member takes a slot (sequence number to get the social gathering) at the beginning, the member will lose because he has to pay a larger nominal.

If a member takes a slot in the middle, there is neither profit nor loss (many members are fictitious). If a member takes a slot at the end, he will get a profit, i.e. the money earned will be greater than the money that has been deposited so far.

Operate slots when members buy slots/sequence numbers from a declining social gathering at a cheaper price. When the slot/sequence number of the social gathering decreases, he continued, the maturity date of the disbursement will benefit from the money they have deposited.

Regarding investment, the member submits a certain amount of money with a certain time period (which determines the admin's tempo). After maturity, members will get multiple benefits (multiples are also determined by the admin).

Meanwhile, duos is an arisan that is only attended by three people with the role of the first person as a creditor and the second person as a debtor and the third person as an admin who is in charge of being in charge, and later the creditor will benefit from the excess payment of the debtor.

Alfan said that the suspect made the arisan decreased by Echy since December 2019. At first the arisan went smoothly and RDA was able to fulfill the disbursement of results that must be given to participants. However, starting January 2021, the participants did not receive any disbursement of results.

"Capital / deposit money from the participants for personal interests by the suspect," he said.

The arisan participants were dominated by women with a total loss of around Rp. 300 million from 55 members.

The police confiscated a number of pieces of evidence, including a cellular phone, a BCA bank statement belonging to the suspect, and clothes purchased by the suspect from the proceeds of the crime.

The suspect is charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 372 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of 4 years.
