Man's Journey Confessing Candidate For Minister Of Health, Tricked Artists To End In Prison

JAKARTA - The disclosure of the fraud case experienced by artist Fahri Azmi is a note for the public not to easily give full trust, in terms of doing business, to people who claim to be officials.

The victim, known as the handsome wolf actor, initially went to the West Jakarta Metro Police. He reported his business partner because he was considered to have cheated with a loss of Rp75 million.

"Today is in the context of additional minutes (BAP) where investigators ask about evidence," Fahri said at the time to reporters, Friday, August 27.

The fraud was allegedly carried out by a friend of Fahri's initials AH. During the examination, Fahri explained about the evidence that AH was about to burn.

The perpetrator's mode of claiming to be the president's envoy, AH then approached the victim and asked for help.

"He made himself an official, an important state official and then he entered the business community, his mode of soliciting business. For myself, his method was that the transfer limit ran out because he felt he was an important person and my official believed I was bailing him out," said Fahri.

However, over time Fahri's money was not returned. The Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation at the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Niko Purba, accompanied by the Crime Unit Head of the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Avrilendy, confirmed that investigators had summoned Fahri to provide information.

The West Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim then followed up on the alleged fraud case. Through the General Criminal Unit (Krimum), officers searched the house of the perpetrator with the initials AH, Friday, August 27 at the Taman Villa Mulia complex, Kembangan, West Jakarta.

"Of course, before conducting a search of the perpetrator's house, we (the police) asked for permission from the head of the local RW," said West Jakarta Metro Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Joko Dwi Harsono, when confirmed, Saturday, August 28.

After getting permission, the police, who were accompanied by security guards, began to search. Together with members, the officers immediately broke down the side door of the house because it was locked.

"We had to break down the door because the door was locked," said Avrilendy.

After the door was broken open, Avrilendi and her staff were seen carrying one sized cardboard box and a printer from inside the house.

"We are currently conducting a search of the perpetrator's house," he said.

After going through the investigation process, AH was arrested in Palembang, South Sumatra after the police conducted an investigation at his home in the Taman Villa Mulia complex, Kembangan, West Jakarta. Police said AH often moved from place to place to avoid being chased.

"That's right, our members have arrested the perpetrator. We have brought the perpetrator to the West Jakarta Police Headquarters." said Commissioner Joko Dwi Harsono when confirmed by reporters, Sunday, August 29.

Through a number of examinations, the police finally named AH as a suspect. So far the police have concluded that AH is the sole perpetrator of the case.

"Meanwhile, he (the perpetrator) himself, including him making letters, making his own stamp on the letter. That's why yesterday we confiscated the suspect's printer and laptop. So far, our conclusion is him," said West Jakarta Metro Police Crime Head AKP Avrilendy, Monday 30 August.

In carrying out his actions, AH was armed with a number of letters that seemed to come from the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensesneg). In the letter, AH also attached letterhead to the signature of the Minister of State Secretary which was allegedly fake.

"There is a letterhead, there is a stamp, including the signature of the Minister of State Secretary. We will present the complete evidence later, yes, it will be released tomorrow," explained Avrilendy.

The letter described AH as a candidate for the Minister of Health. Police are still investigating whether the letter is genuine or fake.

Avrilendy said that his party would coordinate with the Ministry of State Secretary to ensure the authenticity of the letters belonging to the suspect AH.

"If it is a (fake) confession from the suspect. To state whether it is genuine or not, we will check with the Ministry of State Secretariat to confirm the letter," he said.

For information, the police arrested the perpetrator with the initials AH related to the alleged fraud case against the artist Fahri Azmi. The perpetrators also used the name of President Jokowi. AH is charged with Article 372 or 378 of the Criminal Code on Fraud.
