Persons From Ormas Extorting Contractors Arrested While Enjoying Coffee At Warkop

JAKARTA - The extortion act carried out by thugs who claimed to be from an mass organization was finally arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police, West Jakarta. It is known that the man whose face is viral on social media has the initials DB, he is 48 years old. DB was proven to have blackmailed a contractor for an office and residential construction project on Jalan Joglo Raya, Kembangan, West Jakarta.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police, AKP Ferdo Alfianto, said the DB perpetrator came on behalf of one of the mass organizations and asked for money under the pretext of security money. When arrested, the perpetrator tried to escape but failed.

"Armed with CCTV footage and statements from witnesses around the scene, the perpetrator was arrested in a shop while drinking coffee," said Kanit to reporters, Thursday, August 26.

According to Ferdo, the perpetrator came alone to the location of the office and residential development project by riding an automatic motorbike.

AKP Ferdo appealed that his party would not hesitate to take firm action against anyone who commits acts of thuggery against the community, even from the mass organizations.

"Do not hesitate to report to us the police. The perpetrators are subject to Article 368 of the Criminal Code with a prison sentence of more than 5 years," he said.
