JAKARTA - Member of the Public Communication Team for the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19, Reisa Broto Asmoro, said that beauty and hair care services in salons and barbershop are needed by the community.

It's just that, there are a number of things that people need to pay attention to before visiting it. This is because the place has the potential to transmit COVID-19.

"These places have the potential to become a transmission site for COVID-19 because they create close contact between service providers and their customers," Reisa said in a press conference broadcast on BNPB's YouTube account, Saturday, June 27.

In addition, salon or barbershop managers must also pay attention to existing rules. Reisa said, the regulation is actually in the Minister of Health Decree Number HK.01.07 / Menkes / 382/2020.

In the regulation, it is stated that managers must provide hand washing facilities and hand sanitizers at entrances or other places that are easily accessible to their customers. They also have to make sure everyone who walks into the salon or barbershop ishes their hands.

Furthermore, managers must carry out body temperature checks for visitors and their employees before entering the business location.

"If workers or customers are found, visitors with temperatures above 37.3 degrees Celsius and have been checked twice at a distance of five minutes and they have symptoms of disease, they are not allowed to enter," he said.

Then, salon or barbershop workers are required to use personal protective equipment such as masks and face shields, eye protection, and aprons.

"All visitors are required to wear a mask and remember that they should not be removed during treatment," he said.

He also reminded that all equipment should not be used repeatedly without first cleaning using detergents and sterilizing it with a disinfectant.

Periodically, said Reisa, the managers must clean the air conditioner filters. The goal is to maintain air quality in their place of business.

"Don't forget to strive for cashless or cashless payments by paying attention to the disinfection of payment machines," he explained, adding that if you have to pay in cash, washing your hands with water and soap or hand sanitizer is a must.

Customers who come, said Reisa, must limit their visit time. "We recommend limiting the types of service in the salon with a maximum service time of 120 minutes per person and only for hair services," he said.

"Meanwhile (salons) are not used for facial or body services with a lot of physical contact. Remember to limit the salon's operating hours from 10.00 to 16.00 WIB," he concluded.
