Kasad Jenderal Andika: Perfect Combat In Baturaja, Makalisung And Amborawang

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff General Andika Perkasa stated that all preparations for joint training between the TNI AD and the US Army were perfected so that the Garuda Shield program ran smoothly.

"Complete the combat training centers in Baturaja, Makalisung and Amborawang so that the 15th Garuda Shield joint exercise runs smoothly and under control," said Kasad General TNI Andika Perkasa in an Indonesian Army broadcast received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Wednesday, August 25.

Army Chief of Staff General Andika Perkasa has held a teleconference at the Combat Training Center, Baturaja, South Sumatra to find out the readiness of the 15th Garuda Shield Joint Exercise program in 2021.

On that occasion, Kasad received a presentation on training materials in Baturaja which consisted of staff exercise, field training exercise, life fire exercise, medical exercise, and aviation. In addition, there are also materials on Garuda airborne and joint combine exchange training.

Kasad also received reports on personnel involved in all combat training areas, as well as defense equipment used in the exercise. In addition, Kasad also received reports of readiness from the Commander of Kodam XIII/Merdeka and the Commander of Kodam VI/Mulawarman. The two Commanders reported that preparations were going smoothly and according to plan.

"I think it is enough for the Pangdam Merdeka and Pangdam Mulawarman, continue, what is not yet perfect, be perfected. We in Baturaja are also checking the final preparations, thank you all, good luck on duty," said Kasad.

Previously, Kasad General TNI Andika Perkasa also confirmed that the joint exercise was held under strict COVID-19 health protocols. During these training activities, they even provided isolation tents for US Army and TNI AD personnel if anyone was exposed to COVID-19.
