JAKARTA - The Surakarta City Government has begun to allow malls to conduct normal operational trials following the easing of restrictions that had been imposed during the implementation of level 4 community activity restrictions (PPKM).

"The mall trial is a maximum of 50 percent, according to the SE (circular) using the Peduli Protect (application)," said Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 24.

However, the same rules apply to restaurants, restaurants, and cafes located in shopping centers/malls that only accept takeout services and do not accept dine-in.

Furthermore, residents under the age of 12 years and above 70 years are prohibited from entering shopping centers/malls/trade centers. Cinemas, children's playgrounds and entertainment venues within shopping centers/malls/trade centers are closed. Meanwhile, for the implementation of the trial, it is mandatory to obtain approval from the Surakarta City COVID-19 Handling Task Force.
