JAKARTA - The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs summoned the manager of the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) residential area for the alleged ban on the red and white flag stretching by national community organizations (ormas) which took place last Tuesday, August 17. Although it has been previously denied by the management that there is no prohibition on the installation of red and white flags in the area, the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs wants to straighten out public assessments on social media that accuse the PIK area as being a state within a state.

A number of videos that went viral on social media about several incidents of prohibiting people from entering certain areas in PIK were shown at the meeting.

The management, represented by the head of the company, Restu Mahesa, explained that the allegations were not true and had been denied by his party.

"We have never prohibited the installation of red and white flags. It is also not true that entering the PIK area must use a passport. Regarding certain mass organizations not being allowed to display the red and white flag on 17 August, because we were worried about crowds. However, the Deputy for Coordination of Law and Human Rights at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Sugeng Purnomo, reminded the PIK management to be more sensitive and sensitive to public responses in various media. Previously, it was reported that the raising of the red and white flag organized by the Laskar Merah Putih (LMP) was prohibited and was prevented by the Three Pillars of Penjaringan officers at the Pantai Indak Kapuk (PIK) bridge, Penjaringan Subdistrict, North Jakarta, last Tuesday, August 17.
