Isoter Patients In Bogor Increase After Warning From Coordinating Minister Luhut Pandjaitan

BOGOR - The number of asymptomatic COVID-19 patients who are conducting centralized isolation (isoter) in Bogor Regency, West Java, has increased significantly.

This condition occurred after the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Task Force received a warning from the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

"Today, there are 68 asymptomatic patients at the Wisma Kemendagri, Kemang, out of a total availability of 84 beds," said Bogor Regent Ade Yasin, Head of the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Task Force, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 20.

The reason is, when Luhut arrived to Bogor Regency on Saturday, August 14, 2021, the number of OTG patients in the isoter area located in the northern region of Bogor Regency was only four people.

Ade Yasin admitted that he was forced to act decisively asking patients who were self-isolating to occupy isoter locations. According to him, self-isolation for OTG patients tends to be prone to transmitting the virus from patients to family members who live in the same house.

"So the Minister said that the isoter place should not be emptied, because there are facilities for oxygen, food is also covered. Except for (houses) that meet the requirements. Separate rooms, separate bathrooms and others," said Ade Yasin.

In addition, the occupancy rate or Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) of hospitals in Bogor Regency continues to decline, now only at 30.23 percent of the total availability of 1,452 beds.

The hospital BOR rate in the region has gradually decreased after peaking at 97 percent in July 2021.

Then, the use of intensive care rooms or ICUs in Bogor Regency also continues to decline. Now the ICU BOR is 43.37 percent, a decrease when compared to the occupancy rate in the past week which is still above 50 percent of the total availability of 166 ICU beds.
