Be Careful, Motorcycle Thieves In Action No More Than 1 Minute

JAKARTA - The theft of motorized vehicles (curanmor) was caught on CCTV cameras. A trail motorbike that was parked in front of a shophouse on Jalan Cipinang Muara Dua, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, was stolen by a thief wearing a mask.

From the CCTV footage, the two perpetrators did not take long to get away with the motorbike they were targeting. The perpetrators only spent less than a minute, and they managed to tame their target motorcycle.

Rosid, the owner of the motorbike, the two perpetrators were observed observing the situation using the motorbike since the night. Their movements were monitored by CCTV cameras.

"In the morning, the perpetrators stole by prying the ignition key and lifting the standard of the motorbike by hand. After successfully pushing the motorbike onto the highway and running away," Rosid told reporters, Thursday, August 19.

Rosid said his motorbike at 03.00 WIB was still visible in the parking lot. But at 06.00 WIB the motorbike was stolen by a thief.

"At the time of the incident there were scavengers who saw it but did not dare to scream. The perpetrators pryed the motor contact and neutralized the gear and raised the standard by hand. The motor was pushed forward first, then they turned it on," he said.

The victim then reported the incident to the Duren Sawit Police Headquarters. The victim hopes that the perpetrator will be caught soon and his motorbike can be returned.
