Jokowi Urged To Take Over The Polemic TWK KPK, Moeldoko: Then What Is Under It?

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko asked not to delegate everything to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) including the polemic of the National Insight Test Assessment (TWK) of employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

This was conveyed to answer the pressure of many parties who asked President Jokowi to take over the polemic due to the discovery of violations and maladministration in its implementation.

This finding was obtained by the Indonesian Ombudsman and Komnas HAM after conducting an investigation because there were reports from employees who were declared not to have passed the test.

"Don't let all these problems go to the President. What are you doing at the bottom? I think there is someone to regulate the staffing issue," Moeldoko told reporters in Jakarta, Wednesday, August 18.

He said that in the organizational structure of the institution, of course there are officials and have responsibilities, including to follow up on polemics like this.

Moreover, he believes that the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) already has standards as the party responsible for administering the test as a condition for the transfer of status.

"BKN (already, ed) has its own standards in determining it. (So, ed) the President is not involved as much as possible," said Moeldoko.

Furthermore, the former TNI Commander asked all parties to stop appealing to Jokowi in this matter. "Give space to the President to think big," said Moeldoko.

"Technical problems are the assistants who run it and that's the structure so that this organizational structure runs effectively. If it's not complicated, it will be later," he said.

Previously, a number of parties, including the Coalition of Civil Society to Save the KPK, urged President Jokowi to follow up on the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission and the Indonesian Ombudsman to take over the handling of TWKs containing problems.

In its findings, Komnas HAM stated that there were 11 rights violations experienced by KPK employees in the implementation of TWK, namely the right to justice and legal certainty; women's rights; the right not to discriminate; the right to freedom of religion and belief; right to work; and the right to security.

The next right that is violated is the right to information; right to privacy; the right to freedom of assembly and association; the right to participate in government; and the right to freedom of expression.

As a result of this violation, Komnas HAM issued five recommendations which were submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as the highest authority holder and the highest civil service officer. The contents of the recommendations include appointing employees who do not pass the TWK as ASN and restoring the good name of employees who are stigmatized as a result of this incident.
