JAKARTA - The Mataram City Government in West Nusa Tenggara Province has added a centralized isolation facility for COVID-19 patients by turning one hotel into an emergency hospital.

"One additional hotel that we have opened as a COVID-19 hospital is the Grand Inn Hotel in Sekarbela District," said Mataram Mayor H Mohan Roliskana in Mataram, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, August 18.

According to him, the COVID-19 emergency hospital (RSD) at the hotel has 50 treatment rooms for COVID-19 patients with mild and asymptomatic symptoms.

He explained that the addition of the COVID-19 handling hospital was carried out to provide options for patients who wanted to undergo quarantine in a centralized isolation facility, not because the facilities available at the Nutana Hotel and the Fizz Hotel were full.

"We added one COVID-19 hospital not because of a surge in patients, but we want COVID-19 patients who are self-isolating to follow centralized isolation," he said.

He explained that the RSD for handling COVID-19 at the Nutana Hotel had 40 beds and only nine were being used while at the Fizz Hotel, of the 40 available beds, only 12 were used. The mayor said the government provided more facilities so that COVID-19 patients undergoing self-isolation would use centralized quarantine facilities.

The placement of COVID-19 patients in centralized isolation facilities is aimed at minimizing the risk of COVID-19 transmission and facilitating patient monitoring and handling.

"We have also ensured that the facilities at the COVID-19 Hospital are adequate for centralized isolation activities," Mohan said.

According to data from the COVID-19 alert team of West Nusa Tenggara Province on Tuesday (17/8) the cumulative number of COVID-19 patients in Mataram City was 6,222 people with details of 5,596 people having recovered, 200 people died, and 426 people are still undergoing treatment or isolation. independent.
