More Than 30 Minutes, Secretary Of Garuda Indonesia Employees Clarifies Accusations @digeeembok

JAKARTA - The Joint Secretariat of Garuda Indonesia Employees has appeared in public. There are three state-owned company official labor unions that are members of the Sekber. The three organizations are the Garuda Pilots Association (APG), the Garuda Employees Union (Sekarga), and the Garuda Indonesia Cabin Crew Association (IKAGI).

They held a press conference to respond to the issue of bankruptcy of the directors of PT Garuda Indonesia which was busy on social media, which was initially tweeted by the Twitter account @digeeembook.

Chief Executive of the Garuda Indonesia Employees Union (Sekarga) Tommy Tampatty opened the event which was held at Pulau Dua Restaurant, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 12. He also introduced the three unions. After introducing the group, he gave APG Vice President Captain Edward Mahar the opportunity to talk.

Edward read out several points on the position of the PT Garuda Indonesia Employee Secretary, including asking employees to be more solid and submitting all legal proceedings related to the smuggling of one Harley Davidson motorbike and two Brompton bicycles to the authorities. Edward's task in this press conference was to read out the position of Sekber.

The challenger shifted to Tommy. He opened a question and answer session. A number of journalists asked questions, mostly about the accusation that the @digeeembok Twitter account made a thread about the depravity of PT Garuda Indonesia under the leadership of I Gusti Ngurah Askhara Danadiputra alias Ari Askhara. Ari has been fired by BUMN Minister Erick Thohir because of the smuggling of Harley Davidson and Brompton motorbikes.

One of the depravity of PT Garuda Indonesia which was revealed by @digeeembok was the matter of stewardess and flight attendant discrimination. Reporters also asked this question in this press conference. Tommy also answered and made sure that no flight attendant or steward from the Garuda Indonesia airline was discriminated against.

He said, there are Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that apply at Garuda Indonesia for the duties of flight attendants and flight attendants. If there is a flight ban, Tommy said, it will happen because the flight attendants or flight attendants do not carry out their duties according to the applicable procedures.

"Internally, we have strict rules. When one crew member leaves the agreed standard, he will be subject to sanctions."

"We also clarified things that may not have been conveyed correctly. The cabin crew of Garuda Indonesia were selected people. So the cabin crew and us have standards to maintain professionalism and if they are violated they will be subject to sanctions," he added.

The question continued with the question of 'mistress' which was revealed by @digeeembok. His voice rose when he answered questions about the flight attendants who served as servants to the passion of Garuda Indonesia officials or the term 'service boss'. He did not want to comment more, but made sure that the cabin crew worked according to the SOP.

"I reiterate that cabin crew work there is an SOP. ... We do not dare to comment because it is someone's confession which I think needs to be proven," he said.

Tommy added that there is a reporting mechanism for cabin crew who feel that their treatment is not in accordance with the SOP. "Cabin crew have internal and external reporting space," he said.

During the press conference, Tommy also responded to a meeting of a number of Garuda Indonesia flight attendants with BUMN Minister Erick Thohir on Monday, December 9. He said that it was not a representative of the PT Garuda Indonesia Employee Secretary. He emphasized that the three trade unions that are members of the Joint Secretariat are solid and have nothing to do with the meeting.

"We are not participating in the meeting, we are more careful, please underline that we maintain internal solidity to protect our operational services," he said.

After clarifying a number of issues, they ended the press conference and rushed out of a room at the Pulau Dua restaurant. It was recorded that this press conference lasted 30 minutes.

Despite the completion of the press conference, the VOI team and several other journalists also pursued a number of Sekber figures who left the location. Because, there are still some questions that have not been resolved, one of which is the accusation of one of the Sekarga administrators Anna Rosliana, who according to the @digeeembok account, is said to have been ordered by Ari Askhara to bring 80,000 euros from Europe to Jakarta.

Tommy, who heard this question, frowned before finally answering. His tone rose again. He said he did not want to answer the accusations made by the anonymous account. "Never mind us, even Pak Jokowi is being accused," he said.

"Our statement is clear, whoever is proven to be punished," said Tommy, adding that he would not defend any party that was proven to have committed a violation.

"I think it's a consequence of his actions. But I don't think we accuse people," he concluded ending the interview with the excuse of wanting to attend a meeting.
