Mayor Eri Cahyadi's Strategy To Realize Surabaya COVID-19 Yellow Zone In A Month

SURABAYA - Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi has a strategy to make the City of Heroes, East Java, enter the COVID-19 yellow zone within one month.

"The welfare of the people is our main goal as well as Forkopimda," said Mayor Eri Cahyadi, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 17.

Strategies to make Surabaya a COVID-19 yellow zone include increasing 3T (Tracing, Testing and Treatment), then reducing the number of exposed patients, including those who died from COVID-19.

"God willing, today out of 3,000 people who are in isolation, yesterday there were only 50 who entered integrated isolation. That is the strength of our mutual cooperation that made Surabaya immediately become the orange zone and move to the yellow and green zones," he said.

According to Eri Cahyadi, after the condition of Surabaya gets better, the economy will move for the welfare of the people.

In addition, the Surabaya City Government also held mass COVID-19 vaccinations in a number of locations in order to achieve group immunity.

The vaccination journey in the City of Heroes, he continued, started from special vaccinations for health workers (nakes), the elderly (elderly), then targeted at various circles, the implementation of mass vaccinations at Gelora 10 November to vaccination attacks which were held in dozens of locations simultaneously.

"Most recently, yesterday (16/8) the city government together with the Surabaya Police Station launched the Surabaya Police Mobile Vaccination Rapid Response Car," he said.

Eri said that currently the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) had become a part of efforts to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination. As a result, from the mutual cooperation, in a day Surabaya has reached 50 thousand people who get the vaccine.

"This can be done because we are not alone. This is the result of the hard work and greatness of the citizens. It is not only the government or the mayor," he said.

Not only that, the acceleration of this vaccination continues to be intensified thanks to the support of the people of the City of Surabaya through the Surabaya Calling Program.

In fact, from the program he initiated, Mayor Eri was amazed to see the response he considered extraordinary. According to him, there were about two thousand volunteers who joined. In addition, residents and all stakeholders have also helped in the form of assistance that has not stopped flowing until now.

"Some time ago, there was a businessman who provided funds worth Rp. 2 billion," he said.
