Held Weapons Exhibition Next Week, Turkey Ready To Show Anti-terror Vehicles To Ranpur Special Forces 6X6

JAKARTA - Turkish defense contractors will display some of their products for the first time, at one of the biggest global defense events that will open next week.

Held in the metropolis of Istanbul, the International Defense Industry Exhibition (IDEF 2021) is scheduled to take place on August 17-20 under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey in coordination with the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and the Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV).

Citing Daily Sabah Wednesday, August 11, the Turkish company will showcase various defense products in various fields, including land vehicles, weapons, simulators, radar, sonar, naval platform solutions, aviation systems, missiles, logistics vehicles, supply equipment and security systems.

Among the companies, leading contractor Katmerciler will showcase its two new armored vehicles for the first time.

One of them is the Eren, a 4x4 tactical urban warfare vehicle, designed as a smaller scale vehicle than the Hızir company's tactical 4x4 armored vehicle. Eren is intended to increase the strength of the security forces in the fight against terrorism, especially in urban operations.

The vehicle is renowned for its high performance on snow-covered surfaces, superior climbability and high side slopes. This vehicle has a low silhouette, a narrow and short body structure and a short turning radius that promises high maneuverability and performance in residential areas.

This armored vehicle with high ballistic protection provides strong protection against mines and handcrafted explosives.

As in urban use, it offers comfort and ease of use in 'off-road' conditions. The vehicle, which can shoot at moving targets and hit moving targets with a remotely controlled weapon system, has an automatic target tracking system.

Along with Eren, Katmerciler will also showcase an upgraded version of its Hızır, which is dubbed the most powerful combat vehicle (ranpur) in its segment.

Among other things, combat vehicle manufacturer FNSS will showcase the PARS IV 6x6 Special Operations Vehicle. Part of the Mine Protection Vehicle (MKKA) project, the PARS IV 6x6 is said to have the highest level of protection in its class.

Designed as a vehicle with effective protection against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and with infrastructure survivability, including mine height and ballistic protection along with the latest technological mission equipment."

IDEF 2021 will also host panels on topics such as space studies, future technologies, and digital transformation. Last year, the event was attended by more than 1,000 participants and was visited by 76,000 professionals from 71 countries.
