SUMSEL - Three marijuana dealers in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel) with the initials NW, RE and JS were arrested by the OKU Police Narcotics Unit with evidence of dried marijuana leaves ready to be distributed.

"The three suspects were arrested at different locations last Thursday," said OKU Police Chief AKBP Danu Agus Purnomo accompanied by Head of Drugs Unit AKP Hilal Adi Imawan in Baturaja, Antara, Thursday, August 12.

He explained that the disclosure of this case stems from reports from the public who are worried about the illegal business that NW is doing, a resident of Talang Jawa Village, West Baturaja District.

Armed with this information, plainclothes officers immediately conducted an investigation and monitored NW's every move.

Then after several weeks of snooping, officers received information that NW was about to deliver marijuana to a buyer named RE, a resident of Perum Sriwijaya Hospital, Sekarjaya Village, East Baturaja District.

However, before the two of them had the chance to meet, the suspect RW was already secured by the Narcotics Unit of the OKU Police.

"We arrested the perpetrator near the Air Gading TPU, West Baturaja District with evidence of 0.078 grams of marijuana," said OKU Police Narcotics Head AKP Hilal.

Furthermore, during interrogation, he said again, the suspect RW admitted to buying the illicit goods from JS, a resident of Talang Jawa, West Baturaja District.

"Not wanting to waste time, we immediately went to the house of suspect JS and managed to arrest him along with evidence of 1.4 grams of marijuana," he said again.

Then the police again interrogated JS and managed to get information about buying the marijuana from a dealer named AP, a resident of Sukajadi Village, East Baturaja District.

"Alhamdulillah, when we were arrested at AP's house, we found 0.40 grams of marijuana leaves ready to be distributed in his house," he said.

Furthermore, the three suspects along with the evidence were immediately secured to the OKU Police Headquarters.

"We are still continuing to develop this case. Therefore, I ask my fellow journalists to initialize the names of the three suspects," he said again.
