Vice President Ma'ruf Called The General Director Of MUI KH Miftachul Akhyar: Thank God His Condition Is Improving

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said the condition of the chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) had improved after experiencing a traffic accident on the Salatiga Toll Road, Central Java, Thursday, August 12. This was conveyed by him after contacting KH Miftachul Akhyar on the sidelines of his busy schedule.

"Alhamdulillah, I just called Kiai Miftah. His condition and his three companions are getting better so that this afternoon he was able to get out of the Salatiga Hospital and continue his journey to Surabaya," said Ma'ruf through his spokesman, Masduki Baidlowi in a written statement, Thursday, August 12 .

Ma'ruf invited the entire community to pray for Rais Aam PBNU to get healthy soon. In addition, he also expressed his gratitude to a number of parties who had provided assistance to KH Miftachul Akhyar.

"Thank you to Salatiga Hospital, Central Java MUI, Central Java PWNU, Central Java Ministry of Religion Regional Office and police officers," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Ma'arif Nahdatul Ulama (NU) Educational Institution (LP) Arifin Junaidi said KH Miftachul is currently fine and only suffered abrasions even though his car was wrecked.

He explained that at that time KH Miftachul was on his way to Surabaya, East Java. He departed from Jakarta at 23.00 WIB and had time to rest in the rest area of the Salatiga area, Central Java to perform the dawn prayer.

"After praying he continued his journey and the car was in the right lane. Because in front of him there was a truck moving slowly, the car swerved to the left and there was also a truck," he said when contacted by VOI.

On that trip, KH Miftachul was accompanied by his son and PBNU secretariat staff along with a driver.

"(Currently, red) everything is fine, only minor injuries," he concluded.
