The Story Of The COVID-19 Funeral Officer In Karangasem, 6 Months Hasn't Received Tired Money

KANGASEM - The COVID-19 burial officer, in Karangasem Regency, Bali, has not received any money or allowance for 6 months.

Even though the officers are budgeted for an allocation of Rp. 250,000 for one day for the funeral of the body of COVID-19.

The Head of BPBD of Karangasem Regency, Bali, Ida Ketut Arimbawa explained, previously the COVID-19 funeral officers consisting of BPBD, Health Service and PMI received tired money or pocket money of Rp. 75 thousand per day. Payments in 2020 went smoothly.

"The initial 2020 funeral evacuation fund in SK received a tired money of Rp. 75,000, it ran during the funeral at the end of the year," said Arimbawa, when contacted Thursday, August 12.

However, with Rp75 thousand in cash, apparently many officers are no longer active to carry out the burial of COVID-19 bodies. BPBD held an evaluation meeting and submitted a request for a fatigue allowance of IDR 250 thousand per day.

This refers to the COVID-19 funeral cadres in other regencies in Bali for Rp. 250 thousand to Rp. 300 thousand per day.

"With a value of Rp. 75,000, it turned out that the officers were slightly closer to the BPBD. Based on the evaluation results, I submitted a request to the leadership for an officer evaluation meeting as well as for pocket money and looked for references to several other regency funeral evacuation teams," he said.

"It turns out that in other areas, the value is up to Rp. 300 thousand and Rp. 250 thousand. With that value, the officers at the BPBD are active again and carry out ongoing handling again," he continued.

However, over time in the application there is no certainty that up to 6 months the allowance or the tired money will not be paid.

"We are submitting a plan for submitting expenditures according to the procedure. Because the process has to go through several steps in the Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) and there are several OPDs involved in the transfer process (Submission of budget funds for pocket money). may or may not, until June (2021)," he said.

Because, there is no certainty, many officers are no longer active to carry out funerals for COVID-19 bodies. However, his party continues to overcome this with officers who want to participate in the funeral of the COVID-19 corpse.

"I don't blame my friends, it's not a slang term. They also (think) because the risk is high, they haven't faced the virus, haven't faced the community, sometimes people don't accept our process," he said.

In addition to the issue of tired money, BPBD mentioned that there were many obstacles for the COVID-19 curator.

"There are many risks that we face in the field. Because of that risk, many other friends who did not attend did not retreat. Yes, although there were some who were present but not optimally," he said.

In addition, according to Arimbawa, the tired money that was not paid for 6 months could not be disbursed because it came from the unexpected expenditure budget post (BTT) from the APBD.

"When BTT has passed, it can no longer be given," he explained.

"It can't be (liquidated) because the rules have expired and can't be disbursed again. So, in other words, we work to carry out humanitarian tasks. We accept that.

Even though the money was not paid, his party remains committed to carrying out the task of burying the bodies of COVID-19. According to him, it is a human task that must be carried out.

"It means that I am committed as a leader. Even though the allowance is not clear, let's look at ourselves and think about it, what if my dead brother I always instill that (to the officers). How do we feel," he said.
