Arguing With Officers Because Of Odd-Even, PSI Enrages Its Cadres, Viani Limardi

JAKARTA - This morning, a member of the PSI faction of the DKI DPRD, Viani Limardi, was involved in an argument with officers when he was about to enter Jalan Gatot Subroto. This incident made PSI reprimand its cadres.

Today is the first day of re-implementation of odd-even on a number of roads, including Jalan Gatot Subroto. The car that Viani was traveling in had an odd license plate, so the authorities did not want him to pass.

When confronted by officers, Viani defended herself and said she was carrying out her duty to monitor vaccinations in Penjaringan. During the previous PPKM, Viani was allowed to pass because she had a letter of assignment.

However, the assignment letter was declared invalid by the officer, as long as the vehicle number was different from the odd-even date. Viani then saw that the changes to the rules made during PPKM were not clear.

This incident made the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta PSI DPW Michael Victor Sianipar strongly rebuke Viani for not respecting the officers who work to enforce the rules in handling the pandemic.

"We have strongly rebuked our member Sis Viani, while at the same time ensuring that this will not happen again," said Michael in his statement, Thursday, August 12.

Michael emphasized that the eight members of the DPRD in the PSI faction must be ready to be monitored, including receiving a reprimand or sanction from the party.

“This has become a consequence, from the very beginning the PSI Faction has ensured that every member must be ready to work and be ready to be supervised. There are public values and ethics that we must protect. Being a state official is not automatically free from mistakes, "said Michael.

Michael apologized and appreciated all police officers and the Transportation Agency who were tasked with enforcing the applicable rules. To Viani, Michael said that differences of opinion regarding the rules should be posted in an official forum in the DPRD.
