ACEH - The Banda Aceh City Government is targeting the third dose of vaccination for health workers (Nakes) in the city to be completed in August 2021. This third dose of vaccination will use the Moderna vaccine.

"We are targeting that in August all health workers in Banda Aceh City have received the third dose of vaccination," said Head of the Banda Aceh Health Service Lukman in Banda Aceh, citing Antara, Wednesday, August 11.

Furthermore, Lukman said, currently Banda Aceh City has received 4,760 doses of Moderna vaccine from the Aceh Provincial Government. All of them are intended for health workers who have vaccinated stages one and two with the Sinovac vaccine, for a minimum of three months.

"Later on, when the officer inputs the data on the candidate for this vaccine, the data will be visible. If the health worker has only the first dose and not the second, it will be rejected," said Lukman.

He emphasized that currently parties other than health workers cannot be given the Moderna vaccine. So far, only 28 health workers have received the third dose of vaccine, from 42 people targeted during the first day of injection.

"In the PCare application there is complete personal data, when the first and second doses were given, including health workers or not. Later the system will refuse if they are not entitled to this Moderna vaccine," he explained.

Lukman added, until today there were no serious side effects reported. Health workers who were vaccinated said they did not feel any significant symptoms or reactions.

Separately, the Mayor of Banda Aceh, Aminullah Usman, said that recently many health workers have been confirmed positive for COVID-19. Therefore, health workers need to receive this third vaccine again.

"We hope that the Moderna vaccine can improve the immune system of health workers in Banda Aceh," he said.

On this occasion, Aminullah also asked the public to strictly carry out the procedures, namely to continue to wear masks, wash hands, maintain distance, stay away from crowds, reduce mobilization activities so that they can break the chain of the spread of COVID-19.

"Banda Aceh from today is entering PPKM level 4, therefore we ask all city residents to be more vigilant, because at level 3 the transmission is extraordinary," he concluded.
