JAKARTA - TNI soldiers provide free health services to people who come for treatment at the post, as a tangible manifestation of their concern for improving the health level of residents of the central highlands of Papua in Jagara Village, Walesi District, Jayawijaya Regency.

The Commander of the Pamrahwan Task Force (Dansatgas) Yonif RK 751/VJS Lt. Col. Inf. Dedy Dwi Cahyadi said the activity began when the Walesi Post was visited by seven residents, three of them for treatment because they were sick.

"People who come for treatment at the TNI task force post are not the first, considering that since the beginning of their arrival, we have conveyed to community leaders, traditional leaders, and religious leaders in this area so that people are not ashamed to come to visit the Post, especially for treatment," said Dansatgas Lieutenant Colonel Inf Dedy Dwi Cahyadi as reported by Antara, Wednesday, August 11.

Dansatgas admitted that on the opportunity to meet face-to-face with people in the Central Highlands of Papua, the TNI Task Force invited residents to seek treatment at the TNI post because the TNI Task Force Post personnel would serve.

"The TNI Task Force is always open to helping people who come for treatment," added the Dansatgas.

Dansatgas said that there are still limited health facilities and infrastructure in some areas, especially in villages far from the Puskesmas or hospitals.

"The Task Force will serve the community, both those who come to the Post or we will go to the residences of sick residents," explained Dansatgas. The Pamrahwan Task Force Doctor Battalion RK 751/VJS Lt. VJS is equipped with qualified health personnel as well as equipment and medicines.

"What we bring is sufficient to handle preventive (disease prevention) and curative (reducing symptoms) treatment for the community," said Dr. Andreas.

Meanwhile, Mama Karopaleke (34) who took her son for treatment because he had a torn wound on his forehead expressed his gratitude to members of the Post Walesi Task Force Pamrahwan Infantry Battalion RK 751/VJS for quickly helping the child and his family who came for treatment.

"Thank you, Mom, to the TNI soldiers who are members of the Welsh Post Health Service who have helped treat my son, whose forehead was torn due to being hit by the handle of the shovel. And mom was also taking treatment because Mom was having a fever," said Mama Karopaleke.
