According To The Direction Of The Commander And Chief Of Police, Banjarmasin Prepares A Centralized COVID-19 Isolation Place

BANJARMASIN - The City Government of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan has prepared a centralized isolation area for residents exposed to COVID-19 at the Social Education and Training Center on Jalan Baru Besar, Teluk Dalam, Central Banjarmasin.

"In accordance with the direction of the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief, we are also focusing on handling self-isolation at the city level, we are preparing centralized isolation at the Social Education and Training Center," said Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina in Banjarmasin, Antara, Monday, August 9.

The centralized quarantine location is intended so that exposed residents can be handled optimally without having to go to the hospital.

Because, continued Ibn Sina, the place will be equipped with health services, especially for oxygen needs for those who need it. "We have received assistance as many as 25 oxygen concentrator units, one of which we put in this centralized isolation place," said Ibnu Sina.

According to him, the centralized isolation area had actually been prepared for the handling of COVID-19 a year ago, so it was just a matter of following up and preparing the facilities.

"We have obtained permission from the Ministry of Social Affairs for the users of the place, even the budget has been prepared," said Ibnu Sina.

He stated that there were objections from some of the surrounding community for the place to be used as an isolation center for residents exposed to COVID-19, his party would immediately communicate.

"We make sure the implementation of very strict health protocols there, so that people don't worry," he said.

Because the condition of the spread of COVID-19 is an emergency, Ibn Sina hopes that all can understand it. "We ensure services and escorts for our residents who are being hit by the COVID-19 disaster," he said.
