Case Of 126.6 Kg Of Methamphetamine Controlled By A Prisoner Is Revealed, Five People Are Taken Into Custody

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the North Kalimantan Police managed to thwart the circulation and uncover the case of 126.6 kg of crystal methamphetamine controlled by inmates at the Class IIA Penitentiary Bontang, East Kalimantan.

"And managed to secure five suspects in Tanjung Selor, Bulungan on Sunday, August 8 at around 16.00 WITA," said Kaltara Police Chief Inspector General Bambang Kristiyono when delivering a press statement at the Kaltara Police Headquarters, Tanjung Selor, as reported by Antara, Monday, 9 August.

The police chief said the initials of SY (42), JE (38), AJ (27) and RE (41) were couriers, while DK (47) was the controller of the Bontang prison.

The arrest of the suspect was based on the results of the development and investigation of the Drugs Directorate Team of the Kaltara Police, which led to SY and JE. Both were arrested on Sunday, August 8 at around 16.00 WITA.

After a search was carried out in the car used by the suspect, five bags containing 100 large clear plastic bags of methamphetamine were found.

"From the results of the interrogation of the suspect, the methamphetamine-type narcotics will be delivered to East Kutai Regency and Bontang City, East Kalimantan," said Bambang.

The Narcotics Directorate team immediately went to their destination with the suspect and evidence. By using the control delivery investigation technique, the officers managed to arrest two suspects who acted as recipients of the narcotics, suspect AJ and RE in Sanggata, East Kutai. Later, the investigation was carried out to Bontang, and a person who was the controller or owner of the goods suspected of DK was arrested at the Class Lapas. IIA Tarakan.

From the results of the interrogation of the suspect, he admitted that he got the methamphetamine from a friend named RC.

"And there is still a DPO with the initials RC who has not been caught to this day and the person concerned has been made a DPO for a search," said Bambang.

The five suspects were threatened with Article 114 paragraph (2) subs Article 112 paragraph (2) Jo. Article 132 (1) RI Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum penalty of 5 years, and a maximum of life imprisonment or the death penalty.
