Hanafi Rais Will Be Replaced By Ibnu Mahmud Bilalludin, PAN: The PAW Process In The DPR Is Waiting For The President's Letter

JAKARTA - The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the National Mandate Party (PAN) has decided that Ibn Mahmud Bilalludin will replace Ahmad Hanafi Rais as a member of the DPR.

Deputy Chairperson of the PAN DPP, Viva Yoga Mauladi, said that Ibnu's election was based on the third most votes in the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) electoral district.

"Ibnu Bilaludin, former special staff of the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa. Graduated from ITB," said Viva, Monday, August 9.

Initially, the replacement for Hanafi Rais was Yuni Astuti, who won 7,069 votes. However, Yuni resigned and joined the Perindo Party. Therefore, now the DPR seat from the DIY Dapil will belong to Ibn Mahmud Bilalludin, who in the 2019 Election won 6,627 votes.

Viva Yoga said that the process of interim replacement (PAW) of DPR members is still waiting for a letter from the President. If so, then Ibn Bilalludin will be sworn in immediately.

"The process will take a moment, if there is a letter from the president, he will be sworn in," said Viva Yoga.

For information, in the 2019 Election, PAN placed one representative in Senayan from the DI Yogyakarta electoral district, namely Hanafi Rais. At that time, the son of Amien Rais won 171,316 votes.

Hanafi Rais, who at that time served as chairman of the PAN Faction, resigned from the DPR RI and the management of the PAN DPP in May 2020.

Some time later, Hanafi also signed the deed of establishment of the Ummat Party, which was founded by his father, Amien Rais.
