Rp4 Billion In Money Belonging To BRI Halsel Lost During A Fast Boat Collision, Only Found Rp2.9 Billion

The SAR team assisting victims of the accidental collision of the Habibi and Hasiqah fast boats in the waters of South Halmahera and resulting in the death of two passengers, Barry Hamdaany Abubakar (43 years) and Radit Saputra (16 years).

JAKARTA - Police officers from the South Halmahera (Halsel) Police, North Maluku (Malut) and various elements are still searching for money belonging to BRI which was lost during a fast boat collision in Sawadai waters on Friday, August 6.

"Based on reports, officers and residents have dived and have now managed to find Rp 2.9 billion in cash," said Deputy Chief of the Halsel Resort Police, Kompol Rusli Mangoda, when contacted, quoted by Antara, Monday, August 9.

According to him, the money found was immediately counted by the BRI Labuha, which was witnessed by the police and the community who helped search for the money.

According to him, the money that was brought was IDR 4 billion during the fateful incident that killed the Supervisor of the Obi Cash Office, Barry Hamdanny Abubakar. And currently only Rp. 2.9 billion has been found.

Rusli stated, until now residents and the police are looking for the remaining money that was lost around the waters of the accident where the Habibi and Hasiqah fast boat crash resulted in the death of two passengers, namely Barry Hamdaany Abubakar (43 years) and Radit Saputra (16 years). Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) stated that the money brought to the BRI Cash Office Kawasi Pulau Obi was an additional task for the cash at BRI.

Head of the BRI Ternate Branch Office, A Ahmad Muharram confirmed that his party brought money for additional BRI cash in Kawasi, Obi Island to support the operations of BRI work units and use transactions in Frontier, Remote and Disadvantaged (3T) areas.

He said, employees who brought cash worth Rp4 billion were additional cash activities carried out in accordance with applicable procedures and provisions.

However, institutionally BRI also expresses condolences to Barry Hamdanny Abubakar, who is one of BRI's best employees, has integrity and has high dedication.

Previously, the Ternate Search and Rescue Office stated that Habibi's speedboat and Hasiqah's speedboat crashed in the waters of Bacan Island, South Halal Regency on Friday night, resulting in the death of two passengers, Barry Hamdaany Abubakar (43 years) and Radit Saputra (16 years).

Radit Saputra himself was reported before he died on Saturday, August 7 due to a broken bone and had undergone medical treatment at Labuha General Hospital.
